Slaves leaving the ludus free.

The Slave rebellion, also known as the Slave revolt, is a rebellion started by Spartacus. Spartacus started this rebellion not just to get revenge on the men who are responsible for the death of his wife Sura; Quintus Lentulus Batiatus and Gaius Claudius Glaber, but also to free his fellow slaves from enslavement or slaves in general, who have been enslaved by the Romans, who have been abused, oppressed and mistreated by their masters, who do not see them as people, only as slaves or things to be used.

Blood and Sand[]

When Spartacus discovers that Aulus the man sent by Batiatus to bring back Sura until the Ludus had murdered her on Batiatus's orders, he kills Aulus and prepares his vengeance. His new friends Agron and Duro mistreated by the Romans after Batiatus gains Glaber's patronnage join him. An other gladiator Hamilcar rejoins them but the other gladiators refuse unless Crixus join the rebellion too. Crixus's lover, Naevia was banished from the ludus after Ashur reveals to Batiatus and Lucretia their love story and when Spartacus discovers and reveals to Crixus that he has been poisoned to die during their fight, Crixus joins Spartacus and the rebellion begins.

Spartacus kills Sextus and Crixus leads the gladiators against the Romans. The majority of guards are killed but the gladiators lost some fighters including Hamilcar and Duro when he saves his brother. Crixus convinces Oenomaus, their Doctore to rejoin them. With Mira's help, the friend and Spartacus's lover, the escaped gladiators enter in the villa. Ilithyia escapes with three soldiers and her slave Thessala, ordering that the gates are locked. Locked up, all roman Nobles present, (including Aemilia, Caecilia and soon after Domitia), will be killed by the gladiators.

Crixus finds Lucretia and mortally stabs her, killing their unborn child. Ashur barely escapes to Oenomaus. Aurelia kills Numerius to avenge Varro's death, her husband.

Finally, Spartacus kills Batiatus and says a speech to his brothers and sisters, concluding it as crying "and together we shall see Rome tremble". The slaves leave Batiatus's ludus and escape to begin the rebellion.
