Laelia was the wife of Ovidius.

Character Outline

Little is known about Laelia, except that she was married to Ovidius and had one son by him; in which she as well as Lucretia had difficulty in trying for a child, until she sought out a priestess of fertility, the same person Ilithyia had hired for Lucretia to aid in her reproductive problems. She had long brown hair and only her corpse is seen after her murder.

Blood and Sand

Laelia's dead body discovered by Ovidius.

The exact circumstances are unknown, but her death was willed by Batiatus as a consequence for the attempt on his life that Ovidius was directly involved in. Her body was seen sprawled on the floor as Ovidius returned home one night, presumably killed by Barca on Batiatus' orders.
