Amana is one of Ilithyia's body slaves, along with Thessela.

Character Outline[]

Almost nothing is known about Amana. She first appears at Ilithyia's side at the start of Vengeance. The fact that she did not appear to be a body slave to Ilithyia at the time of Spartacus' revolt at the ludus is perhaps indicative that she is a relatively recent purchase. Her appearance may also be an indicator of the rising wealth of Glaber and Ilithyia as Ilithyia now has two body slaves as opposed to just the one she had, Thessela, during the events of Blood and Sand.

Vengeance[]

When Glaber establishes Batiatus' former ludus as his new base of operations, Ilithyia orders Amana and Thessela to throw everything over the cliff that was once owned by Batiatus and Lucretia. As part of her duties as body slave, she bathes Ilithyia and at one time is forced to pleasure her domina as Ilithyia fantasizes about Spartacus.

When Glaber has Thessela executed on false charges that she spoke positively of Spartacus' rebellion, Amana takes over full time duties as Ilithyia's body slave.

When Ilithyia goes into labor within The House of Batiatus, Amana stands by her domina's side when Lucretia goes on a killing spree and murders the rest of Ilithyia's slaves throughout the house. As Lucretia

  • As a female body-slave, Amana would known as a Ancilla, or "maidservant" in the Latin language.
  • A literal rendering of a female body slave in Latin is Serva Corporis.
